Xun Wang is a composer whose work inhabits the space between silence and sound — where timbre becomes memory, and memory becomes form.

Rooted in Chinese traditional music from an early age, she began studying Zhongruan performance at four, an experience that continues to shape her ear for texture, resonance, and the physical presence of sound.

Her music moves fluidly between tradition and the contemporary, drawing on interdisciplinary collaboration and music education to build a compositional language that is intimate, exacting, and quietly exploratory. She is currently pursuing composition at the Manhattan School of Music, studying under Professor Ashkan Behzadi.

Across chamber, choral, solo, and orchestral works, Wang's music returns to a handful of questions: what does silence hold before it becomes sound? What does memory sound like before it becomes language? Her scores treat these less as questions to be answered than as spaces the listener is invited to enter.
